Creme De La Creme launches first beauty ice cream in the world

The dream of all dreams – being able to eat ice cream to maintain your beauty! Creme De La Creme (CDLC); although they just debuted less than 6 months ago, they have already gained a cult following with their artisanal ice-cream and cute petits gâteaux.
Now, in a collaboration with Dr Steve Chia, Medical Director of Sliq Clinic, a lifestyle aesthetic clinic, CDLC has released its new ‘Beauty Elixir’ ice cream, the first ever ‘beauty’ ice cream in the world!
‘Beauty Elixir’ is a sugar-free treat that contains lychee, sakura, rose water, glutathione, collagen and vitamin C. Studies have shown that these ingredients promote healthier and fairer skin, brighter and smoother skin tones and improvement of general well-being.
The taste? Awesome. It mostly tastes like lychee, with little lychee fruit bits in it. It is thicker than your usual sorbet, since it has collagen as its ingredient. It isn’t purely sorbet though; as it is a mixture of sorbet and ice cream.
The ‘beauty’ in Beauty Elixir
Glutathione, an antioxidant, has years of research behind it. It is clinically proven to be effective, allergyfree and helps to even out skin tone and brighten skin to give it a desirable afterglow.
Vitamin C neutralises free radicals, boosts the immune system and detoxifies the body. It promotes skin lightening by converting melanin to a lighter colour and inhibits the production of the enzyme tyrosinase, which produces melanin pigment. Glutathione is highly synergistic with Vitamin C to give the best skin whitening results.
Many studies have shown that collagen is extremely important in health care, especially the ability to prevent the ageing of the body. Collagen enhances metabolism, connects tissues, improves the elasticity of skin, reduces wrinkles, and increases smoothness and firmness of skin. It also restores damaged skin caused by acne and helps to improve blemishes, freckles, scars and brightness of skin.
Cherry blossom (Sakura) is known for its rich antioxidant levels, anti-inflammatory, anti-ageing, whitening and soothing properties. Rich in essential fatty acids, it repairs the skin’s natural barriers to lighten uneven pigmentation, promote suppleness, brightening and smoothness of skin. The tradition of oral consumption of rose water for beauty dates back thousands of years and is most
popular in Persia, Egypt, India and Europe for its anti-inflammatory, anti-ageing and antioxidant properties.
Lychee is a rich source of antioxidants, Vitamin C, Vitamin B-complex, fibre and phytonutrient flavonoids which are effective in preventing early ageing and offers protection from free radicals and oxidative stress.
More than just ice cream
Other than this ‘Beauty Elixir’ ice cream, you can also find other kinds of treats at the store such as little cakes and coffee too. There is also a slew of various ice creams, with unique flavours and some even localised such as ‘Taufufa’, ‘Musang King’, ‘Dragonfruit’ and ‘Thai Milk Tea Boba’.
Pricing and Location
The pricing is not crazy expensive as we expected although it is on the premium side. A single scoop of CDLC ice cream in a cup is RM10.90, with an additions RM2 for waffle cone, and another additional RM2 for premium flavours. Of course, it is more worth it if you would just top up another RM2 for a double scoop.
Parking at that area can be a pain, but you can always make a quick ice cream to-go, or you can park at Starling Mall and walk less than 5 minutes to the store.
