Remember last year’s Lunar New Year themed LEGO set that was sold out in a blink of an eye? Well, this year, LEGO Malaysia has released 2 brand new Lunar New Year sets to the Asia-Pacific region, and to top it off, LEGO Malaysia launches a LEGO Lunar New Year Event!

The LEGO Lunar New Year Event will be held at Mid Valley Megamall in Kuala Lumpur, as well as at The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey in Johor Bahru from 5 January – 2 February 2020. This is the first-ever large-scale LEGO Chinese New Year event in Malaysia!

This event takes up all of Mid Valley Megamall centre court, and the centre court of The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey. You can expect a whole lot of LEGO building activities and engagements that is not just limited to children.

LEGO Lunar New Year Event Activities

Rat Building Competition

Team up with friends or family members to see who can build a LEGO Rat set the fastest. There will be weekly winners and one grand prize winner. The prize? LEGO sets worth RM1000!

Drum Up The Lion

Children will have to build the LEGO Traditional Drum and use it to wake a sleeping lion that is shown on a screen. You will then get to redeem a ‘wishing card’ to make a wish for the LEGO set of your dreams.

Creative LEGO shadow Play

Children are free to build anything or build pre-determined sets and showcase them on a screen accentuated by light to allow them to tell their own shadow puppet story.

Give the Gift of Play

If you have redeemed a wishing card, you can now hang it on the ‘LEGO Wishing Wall’. Five lucky winners will be selected to win their favourite LEGO sets.

Wishing Tree

You will need to register to be able to redeem a wishing card based on your zodiac. You can then jot down your wishes for 2020 and the LEGO crew will hang it on the wishing tree.

Exclusive Event Promos

Other than the fun building activities during the event, you can also enjoy an event-exclusive promo. Early birds who purchase both new LNY sets will get a LEGO voucher worth RM28 and 3 limited edition Gift with Purchase items, which includes LEGO Angpow, LEGO Traditional Drum and LEGO Candy Box.

If you spend a minimum of RM238 on any purchase (excluding LNY sets), will get to choose between one of the Gift with Purchase items. Both the LEGO Drum and LEGO Candy Box GwP sets are exclusively available in Malaysia only at the events at Mid Valley Megamall and The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey.

No time for the event? No problem. You can redeem a limited-edition LEGO Peach Flower Pot GwP with a minimum spend of RM1,500 in a single receipt at any specialty store. HSBC Malaysia Credit Card holders just need to spend RM1,300. This offer is limited to one redemption per customer per day, and daily redemptions are available for only 70 customers a day for Mid Valley Megamall, and 60 customers a day for The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey.

As a bonus treat, you can also stand a chance to win LEGO vouchers worth RM10 each day, limited to the first 50 per day. All you need to do is snap a photo with any of the LEGO figurines on display at the event and post it on your Facebook or Instagram.
